Sushi FAQs
How much does sushi cost, and how many people does each box serve?
The price of every roll and box is shown on its own product page and updated there. Our sushi combo boxes come in 18, 38, 48, 60 and 350 pieces; at six to eight pieces a person, 18 pieces serves about 2โ3 people and 60 pieces about 9 as a main course. See all sushi combos.
What is the difference between maki, nigiri, gunkan, temaki, oshi and sashimi?
Maki are rolls: hosomaki are thin rolls with nori outside, and uramaki such as Philadelphia and California have the rice outside. Nigiri is a mound of rice topped with fish or shrimp, gunkan is rice wrapped in a strip of nori with the topping on top, temaki is a cone-shaped hand roll, and oshi is rice topped with salmon, tuna or shrimp. Sashimi is thin slices of raw fish served without rice, in our sashimi range.
Where do you deliver sushi, and how soon does it arrive?
We deliver across Cairo and Giza. Orders placed before 5 PM go out the same day, and you choose a window at checkout (11โ2, 3โ6 or 6โ9); available windows depend on your area. Details are on the shipping and delivery page.
How long does sushi keep, and can I freeze it?
Our sushi combos are made fresh on the day of delivery and are best eaten the same day; according to the box details they can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours at most. Sushi is not for freezing. Storage notes are listed on each box, for example Sushi Combo 18.
Do you have sushi boats for parties and gatherings?
Yes. Wooden and acrylic sushi boats hold about 50, 75, 100 or 150 pieces. The wooden boat is yours to keep, while the acrylic boat is returned after your event against a refundable deposit, and boats are ordered separately from the sushi. See sushi boats.
Can I make sushi at home, and what do I need?
You need nori sheets, sushi rice, sushi vinegar, a bamboo rolling mat and a filling such as smoked salmon or shrimp. Our Asian cuisine section has nori sheets, the bamboo rolling mat, chopsticks, pickled ginger and soy sauce, with sushi vinegar when in stock.
